Bomba stared down the dark street. It was cold and uninviting. Just the kind of place that an evil Tom would bring a kitten.  "Macavity..." She started. "What if this is a trap? What if...What if this cat WANTS you to come rescue Mistieana? I...I don't want you hurt..."

Mistie gave a cry as she hit the floor. She was in an old mansion that had been abandoned years ago. She jumpped up. Zazor stood in front of her smileing evily. She tried to back up but she ran into Bonconlo who gripped her shoulders with his paws.

Cassandra streched out her whole body in the empty space that Alonzo had left. "What is it, Alonz?" She flicked her tail towards the black and white Tom.

"Good. Then we shall begin." Macavity snarled.

"Did you hear that?" Bombalurina pricked her ears.

Bombalurina stared at the yellow and black Queen sitting beside her. She could feel Demeter's happiness engulfing her like so many flames. She and Munkustrap had mated at the last Jellicle ball, and Demeter was now expecting kittens. Bombalurina often wished for kittens of her own, but she knew that Rum would never agree. Oh, well.
